Played a key role in the Visual Arts Services Group supporting technical art on first and second party titles. Principal contributions included: creating and managing tools, managing project workflow within the pipeline using proprietary tools, problem solving efficiency breakdowns in Maya, the pipeline, or the game, rigging characters and props as-needed, and performing animation file cleanup.


Games

For all projects I supported animators and artists by writing tools to simplify processes. Such tools involved were to aide in export or ones that would work within the game's pipeline. I was also largely responsible with working on destructible props. Working both in Maya and the game engine so everything behaved the way it should.

Tools

watermarker
A tool which uses ffmpeg.exe to add a watermark to a video

imageSequencer
This also uses ffmpeg.exe to export sequenced images from a given video file

imagePlaneManipulator
Used to easily navigate and see what image planes exists on which camera. Can also export and import saved image plane setups into different scenes

animationPoseLibrary
Stores a static pose of a character which can be used to apply to that same or other characters assuming identical rigs. There is also a percentage range so for example, only 50% of a pose can be applied

buildManager
This was a tool only for Tech Artists which allowed us to easily tell which build of a project the animation team was using and to push different builds. There was also a backup build in case something unforeseen went wrong with the current build in use to minimize down-time

playblastVersionTool
Aided in building for artists to use to create and save a playblast from an animation file and save the accompanying Maya file to the correct location within our pipeline with the push of a button.
